Hey, I’m Luke.
I am a writer based in Grand Rapids, MI, where I am also the Director of Racquets at the oldest country club in the state.
The scope of my curiosity has taught me to straddle worlds, and in my writing — as in my life — I am constantly in search of connections between unlike things.
I hold graduate degrees in writing and theology. I helped build two nationally-ranked collegiate tennis programs. I wrote a book about loving Jesus and loving Jack Kerouac. I’ve taught tennis and taught college writing. I’ve traveled the world and now love nothing more than a slow afternoon at home with my wife and two beautiful boys. I won a pickleball national championship and once played semi-pro softball in Nicaragua.
But in everything, I’ve always returned to the blank page as my workshop to try to make sense of the world. And my goal in that workshop is simple: to think on the page in a way that brings value to readers’ lives.
